Supreme Mufti of Ukraine, Head of the Religious Administration of Ukrainian Muslims
The Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine (RAMU) is a religious organization that has united Muslim communities across Ukraine since the country’s indepen dence. It comprises approximately 150 religious communi ties throughout Ukraine, bringing together representatives of indigenous peoples and various ethnic communities who profess Islam.
RAMU is one of the co-founders of the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations and actively promotes interfaith dialogue while cooperating with religious, governmental, public, and international institutions. The Administration enjoys a high rep utation both in Ukraine and abroad, represents Ukraine at international conferences and forums, opposes the politicization of religion, and consistently refutes extremist ideologies.
In 1993, RAMU established the Islamic University, whose diploma is recognized by Al Azhar University, one of the most authoritative Islamic universities in the world. RAMU also oversees the licensed Kyiv Lyceum “Irshad”, the “Svitliachok” Development Center, the “Al-Mahir” Quran School, Aya Group Publishing House, the information platforms “Islam.ua” and “IslamicMedia Ukraine”, as well as the Halal Certification Center.
